My Journey in Education and Advocacy

Hello, my name is Ashleigh. My passion for working with children began early—at just 16, I landed my first job at a childcare center. It felt like I had won the lottery: getting paid to sing, play, and teach little ones while witnessing their joy in learning even the simplest new skill. That early experience shaped my love for nurturing young minds and set me on a path of lifelong service in education.

After earning my B.S.Ed. in Special Education, I worked as an early interventionist, supporting young children and their families during the most critical developmental years. Soon after, I found my calling in Pre-Kindergarten classrooms, where I fell in love with the curiosity, joy, and boundless potential of early learners.

Over the years, I witnessed the growing importance of inclusion and differentiated instruction—ensuring that every child, regardless of ability, could access learning in a way that made sense to them. This inspired me to deepen my impact.

With a Master’s degree in Special Education, I began serving as a case manager in a public school district, writing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students in a Pre-K special education classroom. This role allowed me to advocate directly for students and collaborate closely with families to ensure their children were truly seen, supported, and celebrated.

Now as a Board Certified Advocate in Special Education and through J&J Learning Services, I bring that same commitment to families and communities—guiding them through the special education process with clarity, compassion, and confidence.

As a mother myself, I understand both the emotional and practical challenges of advocating for your child—and I bring that perspective into every coaching, consultation, and support session.
